I told someone that I could contribute a guest post to their blog and I got a little wrapped up with life and kept putting it off. Then I had the election and then I got sick. And whatever, it’s not really an excuse.
Now, now that I’ve actually written the post (on body positivity) I cannot find their email to send it to them. And, when I try to search what I believe their blog URL is, I keep getting ‘This page does not exist’.
I screwed up. I don’t have their email. I don’t have their URL. I don’t know how to contact them. I committed to something and I lost their information.
I am… feeling really bad. This is so not like me. I am so, so sorry.
If you’re reading this and it was you who I promised to write the guest post for, can you pleas email me again? I am so sorry.
Sincerely, Feeling like a sucky person tonight.
Hello. Please remember that we are all humans and we all screw up but that doesn’t mean we are bad people. Life happens. You can’t go back and fix this error but what you can do is keep moving forward knowing that you will make every effort next time. Post what you have written on your blog with a note at the end regarding your intent for the other blog and maybe the person will see it if they are still blogging. 💕😊

Thank you for your sweet note. I’m hoping the person sees this and emails me again to let me know I can still submit! ❤ If they don't email me, then I'll consider posting it. But I don't think I'd feel right posting it until I know it's not going on their blog.

I have done this SO many times. I promise to participate, all giddy with enthusiasm, and then I completely forget what I promised to do. I’m not a bad person, I just need a little focus here and there… 😉

Yeah! I don’t know about you, but someone to kick my butt every now and again would be a good thing… lol

You’re human. These things happen. Your intentions were good and your heart is in the right place. Don’t stress about it. 🙂

I know it’s tempting but try not to be so harsh on yourself. Life gets in the way sometimes and we end up missing important things. If they stumble across this post, they’ll realise how sincere you are x

I really hope they do see this post. Fingers crossed!

We all make mistakes. But you’ve done the one thing that many fail at….the MOST important thing, when it comes to mistakes. You have taken responsibility, offered an apology, and opened yourself up to making amends. You need to not be so hard on yourself. I admire the courage it took to write this!

Thank you. I really hope they find this and they email me again.
I feel bad. I’m usually so much more on top of things.

I agree – I’m the same – the words we say promises made otherwise come back to haunt us

If it were you and I had offered to write a post but didn’t get back to you, would you accept my explanation for what had happened?
If not, I am curious as to why?
If so, please have that same compassion for your good self 🤗

Shit happens, you know. But that shit looks bigger when it happens to oneself. Just let yourself be angry and feel bad for a little bit. It will let you forgive yourself later and stop blaming yourself for a common human mistake.
Loads of love to you!

I’ve made so many mistakes in my life personally and professionally. The best you can do is acknowledge it and do your best to fix it which you are. Dont beat yourself up to much.

Hi:
Maybe I’m missing something here, but you wrote that if this person sees your post, they should email you back. If they emailed you once you should have their return address in your email receive file or junk file.

Thanks. I’m hoping they see this and email me. Really hoping!

Yeah but if she doesn’t know who its from to begin with makes more sense for them to reconnect with her. I’m surprised there wasn’t a follow up reminder of some sort.

She could go through her list of emails received before she got sick and read the emails from people she doesn’t recognize or some such scheme. She’d eventually find it.

Thanks for the suggestion but my computer was recently wiped along with my email data because someone was so kind to send me a virus. That’s why I dont have email any more. I’m hoping the person sees this and reads it and emails be back going “hi, it was me”. Long shot I know but I still hope!!!

I think they were just giving me some time because I told them my life was a little hectic.

You haven’t screwed up at all. You have initiated a sensible recovery plan. For me, it’s how people recover from setbacks that separate the great from the mediocre players. You’re a great player. And the person expecting your contribution will feel the same way as I do. 😎
