I’ve never done this before.

I’m taking requests.

Is there anything that you would like me to share on this blog? Perhaps a topic that you’d like for me to write about? Do you want to read more marketing tips/tricks/secrets? Do you want to hear my opinions about global warming? Are you interested in product reviews? Do you want to hear more tips from my therapist of how to deal with anxiety and panic attacks? Do you want me to share more photos of Canada? Do you want to hear more about my cousin who got pregnant to trap her boyfriend? (Because yeah, she ended up getting pregnant)

If you have anything you’d like to read on my blog, let me know.

And, if there’s nothing you’d like to read on this blog – just comment below and tell me what colour your eyes are. Because, you know, that’s important to me. Really, really important to me.

    1. It’s not something that I’ve ever touched on only because there’s soooooo many layers to it and I’ve never really been sure how to wrap it all into one post. It’s more like something I’d need to do a series on, I think. That being said, I can definitely share some insights. I’ll try putting some thoughts together in the next few days in a manner that hopefully makes sense.

    1. I don’t know if I could make a whole post out of this. With respect to my blog specifically, honestly, I have not done any paid advertising.

I have a degree in marketing and ten years of experience managing marketing/blogs in a corporate settings, so I guess I… knew the inns and outs prior to even starting this blog. I think that’s why I try to share so many tips and tricks under the ‘marketing’ heading on my page. I want people to have access to the inns and outs that are second nature to me.

My biggest take in the past 13 months is that it’s not so much about what you say, but how you say something. If you can connect with people, your tribe/audience/community will find you.

All that being said, if you’ve already read my marketing section and are still a little perplexed, let me know and I’ll try to shed some lights on to my specific blog…

      1. I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. I’ve looked into the analytics to see what my most popular day/time for views are. But it’s so varied. So now, I’m just going by most popoular times of the day to post and try to do a couple of posts a day. One artcile, and one personal.

      2. In the Digital Marketing/PR world, the optimal time of day for posting something is between 11 am and 1 pm. (Most people check blogs, social media, etc… during their lunch hours)

Where the analytics work in your favour is knowing how to use them. For instance, if you’re in the UK but the majority of your audience comes from the United States, publishing a post at 11 am in the UK is the middle of the night in the USA, so by the time your majority American audience wakes up, your post is several hours old and already farther down on their feeds – so they’re less likely to see it and read it. If you want the most people possible to see your post when it’s published, publish it at the peak hour for the most people to see it. Once it’s slid down the WordPress feed, it’s harder for people to find and people have to search for it. Once people are searching for it, there’s a whole lot more to distract them from ever finding your post.

  1. I had completely forgotten about your cousin until you mentioned her there. Whatever did happen to them? Are they still together? And yes I’d like to see more photos of Canada and hear some of your therapist’s tips. Genuinely though I do enjoy pretty much anything you write (some of the more technical marketing stuff does go over my head). You have a great writing style. 😊 Oh and in case you would actually like to know – my eyes are green. 😉

    1. Together… hanging by a thread. She is pregnant. I’ll write up all the drama in the coming days here and share an update. I’m trying to remember when it was I posted that so I can link back to it so people understand what crazy psycho I’m talking about. haha

      Also, I love green eyes.

    1. I made a post two days ago talking about how Influencers will ask people what colour their eyes are as a means to ‘beat the Youtube Algorithm’. The comment about eyes was a tongue’n’cheek joke for those who’d read the post! lol

    1. I can do this!
And no. There are definitely a lot of completely bilingual people but it’s by no means everyone. It’s a requirement if you work in Social Services, for the Government for any national organization or airline that yo ube fully bilingual. But, for the rest of us we’re taught enough of the other language in school to not ‘get in trouble’ in a conversation, so to speak, but not enough to speak fluently. If someone were to come talk to me in French, I’d likely be able to know what they were saying – but I struggle with the French sentence structures, so anything I said back to them would sound very broken and probably wouldn’t make a ton of sense.

  2. Write more about your life and your past. Give us a little memoir. Maybe only include what you’re comfortable telling. Because in some ways you seem pretty guarded (despite all your vulnerability), which is smart of you. But I bet your audience would enjoy hearing more about your past, things you’ve learned about life etc.

    1. You’re right. As much as I share, it does come with a veil attached. I think that’s a purposeful means of protecting my anonymity. I actually got an email about a month ago proclaiming they know what town I live in and that it won’t be long before the find me. So that kind of freaking me out a little bit. I just want to be careful not to say the wrong thing. Ya know?

    1. Possibly due to the change in sleep patterns! My therapist talks a lot about how anxiety can be affected by your sleep and the natural rhythms of the earth. I’ll put together some of her thoughts in the coming days!

    1. Ohhhhhh, in the New Zealand House of Commons! A member of Parliament who is a Millennial was talking about climate change and the effect it will have on our earth and the older men (baby boomers) in the House of Commons were heckling her as though she was stupid and didn’t know what she was talking about. She shot back with ‘Ok Boomer’ and the rest is… well, yeah. See it here: https://youtu.be/OxJsPXrEqCI

      1. I’m afraid I haven’t noticed them having a tendency to change – hazel is just the correct term (from what I’d read, outside of certain mutations all eyes are categorized as brown, blue or hazel – the latter having quite a lot of variety as to which shade predominates.)

  3. Your sense of humor brings a smile to my face V😊 I would enjoy reading all of your suggested topics. Most especially more of your real life and yes your cousin’s drama intrigues me because my own sister did just that to her ex-husband. As you can see it didn’t work or last. Global warming interests me a lot too.
Btw, where do you live? My eyes are hazel and I like to maintain eye contact with others in a steady way when speaking in person. As an intuitive empath, that’s how I read people.
I really do enjoy your blog here V and I always look forward to your posts, thank you for being genuine and informative. Thank you for being my friend😊💜🙏✌

      1. Awesome, I have a gf in Aberta and I have always wanted to visit! I have never been to Canada but I have never met a Canadian I didn’t like😊
Looking forward to these family drama stories, reality television is such a guilty pleasure of mine. It makes me appreciate my own life and puts my own issues on perspective 😄

      1. There’s a lot of background to what my sister did, I’m certainly not condoning her behavior in the slightest. I adore my ex brother-in-law for what he had to deal with. He’s an amazing father to my niece and nephew. This was 17 yrs ago and thankfully my sister is much healthier and stronger now.
I definitely don’t think it’s uncommon. My partner was completely trapped by his both baby mamas. He too has come a heck 9f a long way. As for me, I had my children with my ex-husband, our 1st was our honeymoon surprise and my 2nd was completely planned. I always said 2 and I’m through lol….I’m grateful for my 2 boys now 18 and almost 15😊

      1. I would LOVE that, will keep you posted!! I need to renew my passport. This country has these rules with child support, see my ex was so bitter when I asked for a divorce. Even though I was a stay at home mother and never financially supported anybody, he took me to court for the support and I couldn’t afford an attorney. Needless to say 10 yrs ago I was having a lot of problems with my mental health and had subsequent hospitalizations and breakdowns. I still owe him thousands. I have to prove it’s financially important for me to leave this country. He is a piece of work. Anyways, someday I will get it straightened out and get my passport privileges reinstated and then ✌ out because I love to travel!!

  4. I enjoy the marketing tips and tricks posts – I have no use for them but I enjoy reading them. I always like reading product reviews – as long as they are for products I would/do actually need/use. High-end anything? – who cares, I’m never going to buy them. Gorgeous photos? Always lovely to see. (and – my eyes are dark brown.)

    1. P.S. I really don’t deal in high-end anything. I’d rather save my money for hopping on a plane than buying expensive ANYTHING. So I agree with you. High end – who cares? Not this girl.

  5. Different parts of Canada have different looks and stories!! Living in Manitoba myself, I love hearing about others stories!! It’s rather a “warm” winter here and I worry about what that will mean for the growing season….
Sadly I am wondering about your cousin and feel sad that another child will be born without a stable home!
As for my eyes? I have a brown birthmark in my eyes, so they are called hazel but they go from blue to grey depending on how I feel! Crazy as it sounds, that’s how my brith mom knew I wasn’t feeling well! LOL

    1. Firstly, I love grey eyes. I think they’re so beautiful.

Secondly, I’ll definitely share some more photos!

Thirdly, I will be writing up a piece about my cousin in the next couple of days. She’s pregnant. And the saga continues….

  6. I actually thought about asking you about a week ago… and feel free to say no because your time and advice are valuable. I made the mistake of letting my boss know that, in my previous job I maintained a website. It was pretty easy to maintain the thing because it was all done through WordPress and I’m pretty familiar with how that all works. Now my company wants me to basically build them a website from the ground up. I’m gonna use WordPress, again, because it’s what I’m familiar with. But I’m terrified I’ve gotten in over my head with this whole thing. I was told not to worry because their previous website was literally just one page with text and a few images. Still… I’ll listen to any advice you’re willing to give 🙂

I don’t want to sound like a negative nancy, but you may have gotten yourself in over your head.
Are they giving you a raise to do this? I ask only because of the sheer volume of time one needs to dedicate to a project like this, if they aren’t giving you a raise then they’re sincerely taking advantage of you.

  7. I’m interested in product reviews since I don’t know what’s out there and hardly buy stuff. It would be nice knowing what’s worth buying!

I’m also interested in recipes that you like, preferably ones that don’t upset your stomach. I’m looking for recipes that don’t cause stomach pain or worsen inflammation.

When I write the update I’ll link the last post, but the whole thing started when she said she might as well get pregnant because she was never going to get a boyfriend as hot as her current boyfriend ever again, so she figured if she got pregnant he would stick around for good…

    1. I really want to write this too. My fingers are crossed and my hopes are up.

There are SOOOOOOOOOOO many pictures of horses and horse statues that I still want to take pictures of for you and if I got the job there, then they’d be at my doorstep so I could go find them!

  8. Hmm 🤔… I would definitely love to hear more if you ever decide to do that testing with the food allergies – I’m so curious myself … love reading about your journey there cause I can relate.

And then anxiety depression – same thing – is human response so love reading others journeys or how they view things, or how it came to be? What things influence or have influenced you?

I also love reading about your journey finding a job – who can’t relate to that?? You must have a passion for the field you chose, what drives your passion with it? What made you want it?

I would LOVE to see photos of Canada!! 🇨🇦 … and would love to hear what life is like there… I imagine it to be pretty similar to the United States? What’s it like living there? What are the best and worst things? If you could be anywhere – where would you choose? What things do you love about living in Canada and then what are the downfalls, if any?

I also love reading opinions on different matters… even if I think differently I like to see other viewpoints. I like to read about things people think, what they go through, how they do things.

What made you start blogging? Do you enjoy it and has it helped you along the way?

So I guess those are things that pull me personally in. Humanness, curiosity or relatability ✌️

    1. If/when I get a chance to pursue more food testing, I will definitely update. It’s something that I’m passionate about getting to the bottom of. But, with present finances limiting what I can spend my money on, I’m just being very careful with food until I can do anything more.

As for anxiety – a lot of it stems from family. I’ve made posts about that before but they kind of… bring it out in me. That being said, I’ll be sharing more tips from my therapist in the coming future. She’s a wise woman who looks at the world a lot differently than I do.

I’ve been pretty lucky in that I’ve been to ever Province and Territory in Canada except for Nunavut. So, I’ve seen a fair majority of this country and have a lot of photos on my external hard drive. I just have to go through them one day and find some photos worth sharing! Canada is pretty beautiful, and I would love to share more of it.

I started blogging in January 2019 after some encouragement from my boyfriend that I use it as an outlet to free the thoughts of all the stress that was happening in my life. It definitely helped at the time. Then it sort o morphed into… well, this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think 5,000 people would care about what I had to say enough to subscribe.

      1. That was awesome! Thank you for that answer … can’t wait to read your posts!

If you have any photos of Nova Scotia – I am curious of what looks like there. I have genealogy family ties to Nova Scotia, but have never seen and never been. Have only heard stories.

And oh wow! Happy belated 1 year blog anniversary lol – that’s awesome! It helps me too – I am only coming into my 3rd month, but it helps me put things in order and perspective for myself – and love reading others blogs too! All this was a new discovery for me, and it helped me not go completely disconnected.

Thanks again! Hope your day is awesome!

  9. I have trouble finding time to learn how to do new things with this wordpress thing lol. I would love a few how to’s that would be beneficial to newbies. I spent 45 minutes watching YouTube video that didn’t help me haha. And also, I have one blue and one green eye with two different sized pupils 😀 In reality though, I love reading all your posts and you cover a wide variety of subjects which I also love.
