Letter to an unconfident soul

Dear Self ,

It’s okay to not be okay.

It’s okay to be a mess.

It’s okay to not have to a plan. To not know what’s next. To not know how to fix your problems.

Newsflash: EVERYONE has problems. Everyone has struggles. Not everyone knows how to deal with them. That’s not shameful, or embarassing, nor does it make you stupid. It makes you normal.

What matters is that you continue to make an effort. What matters is that you don’t give up. What matters is that you just keep going, regardless of what the universe throws at you.

You can take it.

I promise you that you can take it. You can conquer it. You can defeat the demons, slay the beasts, defy on the odds and come through this with your head held high.

No one escapes struggles in life. So please, stop thinking that you’re alone in this and realize that people can and want to help. Likewise, people need help themselves and you can be an ally. Be an ally.

As much as you might not believe it, there is a reason for everything in life. If you’re being tested right now, you’re being tested for a reason. If things aren’t falling into place, no matter how much work you put forth, no matter how much progress you feel you’re making, there’s a reason for that.

Buckle in. Be ready for the fight to continue. Until the tables turn, until it’s your time for the limelight, until things fall into place, you need to keep going. You cannot give up.

No matter how messy it gets, no matter how much you doubt yourself, I beg of you, please don’t give up.

Sincerely, Me

      1. You’re welcome. People (employers) can be so fucking insensitive. As if they never had to seek employment. I guess they forgot what it was like when they were looking for employment. They weren’t born into employment. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤬

    1. Ahhh, I haven’t been wearing mine but now that you say that I’m reminded that mine used to be really motivating for me as well. Perhaps I should put it back on my wrist, now that you’ve reminded me.

  2. That a girl V!!!! Yes to all of this because it is 100% true! It’s like I always tell my kids, stay reachable because nobody ever has it all figured out. We are fallible and human. Perfectly imperfect. I think this may be the corner I was talking about😉 you ate rounding it. Everything is about attitude, the way one looks at the world. It’s one of the few things we have control over. Life is about time management, preparation and attitude. I choose to keep a positive one and boy oh boy it certainly isn’t always easy, yet it is a simple concept.
I have shared my struggles with you my friend and I have learned the hardest lessons the hard way! Choosing to love yourself and the struggle allows your mind to let it go and embrace the moment in order to put you into an abundance mindset. I wish you nothing but the best V because you deserve that. You are thoughtful and insightful. I’m looking forward to your next step😊❤

  3. I love how direct and blunt this is. Alot of our draw backs are because we assume that we shouldnt be something. Whether its an emotion or a different version of ourselves. We all doubt ourselves, pushing through that doubt is what matters. Excellent write up.

  4. I have one personality trait that kinda helps with these kind of days. I’m stubborn. You (Depression & Anxiety) will not get the better of me. FU! You might be on top now but you are not gonna stay there. Better watch out when I shake you off!

  5. I’ve been struggling so much with a lack of self-confidence and doubting myself lately, so this was so nice to read. Honestly this is something I can see myself coming back to and reading when I’m upset, it’s that well written. Excellent post, and thank you so much for sharing. Stay strong yourself. ❤
