Recently, a dear friend of mine introduced me to a brand called ‘Off White’. Apparently, Off White is incredibly trendy and I am behind the times in not knowing about it.
I had a look at their website and I just… I’m so perplexed. See above. It’s not the only example of why I am perplexed, but it is a prime example.
Why?
Why?
Why on earth?
Okay… are people really that obsessed with being trendy that they’re willing to purchase a bag with holes in it?
If you have $2,000 to spend on a bag, why wouldn’t you buy a bag that’s at least functional?
Why would someone design this? Why is this cool? On what planet is this functional?
Honestly, I try really hard to not judge people for their purchases… if they have the money for something they can spend their money how they want to. If I ever saw someone walking down the street with this, though… I’d be more than inclined to lecture them about how to, and how to not spend $2,000.
Why?
I’ve seen some really ugly bags in my day, but they were at the very least functional. This is just… a weight for your arm. And it’s not even really a good one. It would likely just make you look like an idiot if you carried it.
Probably the best and most honest product review I have read all year.

I decided it would be SOOOOOOOOOOO much more trendy if I used my $2,000 for groceries for the next few months. It’s edgy. I know. But, I think as the pandemic continues, it’ll be a trend that catches on sooner or later.

🤣😂. Hopefully the ones who don’t catch on will just starve to death 🙄.

You’re lying to yourself. Just think of all the groceries you could carry in that bag! Once you patched all the holes, that is. But that shouldn’t be too hard.

First thought I had: Is this real?
Then of course it is.
Second thought: Idiocy is the new mother of invention. Christ, that product is just… confusing on so many levels. And useless at that point. Just wow.

Lol, exactly the same! That sickening feeling of dread in stomach that you just know you’re about to be proved wrong that it can’t be real. You’ve seen too many previous examples of this kind of thing now. 🤦♂️

YESSSSSSSSSSSS.
Exactly. Useless. Confusing. Someone gets paid to make this. And it’s probably made in a sweatshop, so it’s probably not even them being able to be paid a lot for it. $1,990 is probably going into some rich man/womans pocket.

Guaranteed, lol. No difference between ‘top’ and cheapest brands most of the time. It’s just about which third world country you want it made in and how much you want to be ripped off by.

Levis is a great example of a brand which bucks the trend. Their jeans are so much more durable than others I’ve had.

LMFAO!
It’s at this point that I’m actually a big fan of capitalism. At this point it must be exerting a selection effect. Honestly, it’s capitalism at its finest and most pure, when you can literally get somebody to willingly pay big money for a bag with holes in it! For no reason at all!

Oh by it’s not for no reason at all, it’s clearly so they can remain on trend and be #Goals and #Mood. lol

At first, I just glimpse at the picture and thought ok sure bag with a hole patterns. But you said it was real holes and then looked at the picture longer and got shook! lol

Oh yeh, them are some real holes right there.
I’d have to carry a separate purse just to put my purse things in so that I didn’t lose them out of one of those dang holes…

If someone can carry it as a purse and keep all of their stuff inside without it falling out, that’s a seriously talented person. They deserve an award for passing that test.

Honestly, if someone has enough money to purchase a $2,000 purse, go at it. It’s their money, right? They can spend it how they please, it just seems so bizarre to me to spend money on something that’s filled with holes.

Well for me, buying a bag with holes is complete wastage of money. I could list atleast 20 more better ways to spend that money. But yeah, seems like some do have enough money to be “trendy”

Without the holes it would make a beautiful bag. With the holes I find it a funny bag. Funny to look at, I don’t know how I would carry it, even if they send me one. 🤷♀️

Oh, if there were no holes, it would be right up my alley, right up my style. It’s black, it’s structured, it’s beautiful. But holes… I just, I’m with you, it’s funny. You would have to carry a different purse because you couldn’t put your purse things in your purse because they’d fall out of the holes…

Maybe that is what they are trying to do, selling you another purse to go with it. Anyway, I didn’t know the brand, looked them up and decided that I’m not a millennial and way to old for such things. I like my classics and now I feel old. LOL!

But what if $2000 was only the equivalent of $20. Is it the price that infuriates you? It’s quite arty. As an artist I like it, it doesn’t have to have function. The price of a Pollock (painting not fish) may not be justifiable to you either but worth every penny to me. The fish on the other hand are both delicious and affordable so no argument there. We are diverse, we all like different things.

It’s the fact that its $2,000 for a bag that isn’t functional. I dont bat an eye at people that have $2,000 Louis Vuitton or Chanel bags because that’s how they choose to spend their money and that’s a fully functional bag. I am actually a big fan of Louis Vuitton. Though I cant afford them I find their bags to very stylish and beautiful to my eyes. Thar being said, If a Pollock painting was filled with holes I might question its worth too.

I’m a big fan of quirky fashion and found the original jitney bag with ‘cash inside’ written on it amusing. You’re berating people for buying something you wouldn’t. It’s art. It’s art for arts sake. You don’t want it, don’t buy it.

There are no rules, you say you don’t understand so the understanding is that people are different and can do what they like with their money

With all the holes you would think that you would use this type of bag put a small animal of some sort. This is of course assuming that said animal is small enough for the bag but not big enough to crawl out of any of those holes. Still $2000? I wish i had that kind of money I could throw at a bag…

OMG I wonder if it would fit a chihuahua or some sort of tiny dog? That might actually be cute. And a reason for holes!

Well the way I see it, it looks totally stupid.
If that is the “in” thing, woman should go somewhere else.

I think this brand is ‘in’, but I’ve never seen anyone, on youtube or otherwise, that’s actually had it. I don’t know how popular this particular bag is. I almost wonder how someone who owns this would describe it. I should find someone who owns it and see what they say. Not to hate, but just because I’m curious.

What a Waste. On every level. A waste of material, of money, of intellect, of resources, and sorely lacking in fashion sense as well.

There are some things that this brand makes that are really, really cool. Not anything that is every within my realm of budget, but dang cool. That being said, I would agree with you – this bag is a waste of material, resources, design, money, etc.. etc…
Having a bag with holes in it is just so bizarre. I just don’t understand.
