I just got an email from Robin asking where all of his comments were going. I checked my WordPress spam folder and I just found SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many comments that I never saw. If you’ve left me a comment that I have never responded to or even liked, I am sorry.

Check your spam filters, people. Sometimes people can get put in spam and you don’t even know it.

  1. Yup, I try to check every couple of weeks or so to make sure I didn’t miss anyone’s comment. Most of the time, it’s spam, but every once in a while, I get comments from followers. Have fun cleaning your inbox! πŸ˜‰

  2. Oh boy!! After I read your post I did check. There were 2 and the origins were a bitcoin website despite the comments being complimentary. Shows how manipulative these folks can truly be….or bots….who knows lol

    1. Yeah, there’s a lot of actual spam in there but there could possibly be something important. I found a lot of links to XXX sites in my spam folder…

  3. I learned this the hard way a while back… actually, I was wondering why my comments weren’t showing up on other people’s pages, and I contacted tech support, and then I found a few that hadn’t gotten posted on my blogs, although most of the ones in my spam folder were actual spam. I don’t get a whole lot of comments generally. I wish I did. I’m not popular. πŸ˜›

      1. Thank you! πŸ™‚ I appreciate it. I always say I’m writing for myself, I’m not trying to be popular, but on the other hand, I do enjoy talking about the stories I tell with others. It has been interesting for myself reflecting on that pivotal time in my life, and I also hope someone else can get something out of hearing my stories, even if it’s just that people enjoy them for entertainment value.

      1. I don’t think so really. I only found out it was happening on my blog because the person whose comments were going to spam were able to tell me their comments were disappearing whilst I was commenting on their blog. Otherwise there’s no good reason anybody would think to check it.

  4. Okay… I never look at my spam comments and just always assume the spam filter is working correctly. So this post inspired me to go take a look, just in case. I didn’t run across a single comment that I felt the spam filter got wrong. And the results, in a lot of cases, are hilarious. One was from a repeat commenter/web address that let me know she was “also an aspiring blog blogger” and asked for advice. I need to start checking my spam more often… if only for a good laugh.

  5. Your blog posts stopped showing up on my reader and idk why. This isn’t the first time WP has done this (with other bloggers). Super frustrating. πŸ˜–

      1. I never flagged you. This has been happening with various blogs I have been following, where one day they stop showing up in the reader. It’s strange.
