Ugh.

If you do not like me, don’t read this blog. If you think I’m an idiot, don’t read this blog. If you disagree with me to a point that you don’t think we can have a civil conversation, don’t read this blog.

No one is being forced to read this blog. Yes, it is public. However, just because something is public does not mean that you have to read it.

I know that not everyone agrees with me. And that’s okay. I’m not here to make the world agree with me. I’m here to write my thoughts… on my blog. Emphasis on my blog. If you would like to share your thoughts in a respectful manner, open dialogue is welcome. FYI: it is possible to share differing opinions without being an asshole. That being said, if you’re going to be an asshole, your comments will be flagged as spam and you will be blocked.

I do not have the time, patience or desire to deal with keyboard warriors.

End of story.

  1. Is everything okay, V? In the past, I have had trolls attach themselves to my blog and I had to flush posts as a result. If you’re following the person, best to ignore their posts. Not everyone on here is mentally balanced.

  2. Sorry that you have to deal with knuckleheads out there. At the end of the day they are cowards hiding behind a keyboard. Unfortunately from time to time we will have to deal with these small minded people. It is not easy as our blogs are our personal thoughts that we are opting to share, for a positive reason. Words have a great deal of power, I wish that so many people did not choice to use their words to bring others down.

  3. Social media is the worst. If you have an opinion, watch it get dissected, mutilated, and then finished off with a good stomping.

I give my opinions to the characters in my books. That way it takes a reader far more work to dig them out and figure out what’s going on. 100,000 words versus 200 characters ends most critics right there and then.

  4. Debating is OK as long as it’s done respectfully. It’s OK to disagree but it’s not OK to use inflammatory speech, name calling etc. which is often taken way out of context online. I bet that the things that people say online to someone, they would never say to someone’s face in person.

    1. Exactly. It’s so sad to see how aggressive people have become online. I just stay well clear of those places and keep to myself! So much better :). It’s just not worth wasting any of your time or energy.

  6. Don’t worry V – for every troll out there is a dozen people that do like your blog and like what you write and respect you in your space. Some people are just beyond understanding basic things like respecting your fellow “person”. It’s so sad…

  7. I think it’s your blog, your garden – you get to decide what grows here. Anyhow don’t let them get under your skin as there are people who will disagree with you on practically anything!

  8. One of the things that I like about blogging is the fact that you can express yourself and nobody can stop you. People can start commenting after that, but whatever they feel or think about what you’ve said, whether they like it or not, you’ve already put that out of your head. You can just let them fight their own wars, that’s their choice anyway. πŸ˜†

^^ Can I get this tattooed on the background of my blog and YouTube channel?

  10. Oops… what happened for you to publish this common-sense disclaimer? All of us humble followers know that rule very well. Does anyone too stupid to understand something simple like that truly exist out there?

  11. I blocked my first reader the other day. She wasn’t leaving hateful comments but a lot of sometimes she over stepped boundaries – if that makes any sense. There’s a fine line in giving unsolicited advice without being judgmental. But once you get all judgmental about my choices – we’re going to have problems!
