Renewed

After a week of contemplation, I have made the decision to renew my blog for one more year. Mostly because I need an outlet and I was/am unsure of what to rebrand to. Also, despite the fact that some things have fallen into place (and some things definitely have) my life is still very much in crisis mode.

Seriously. It’s a fight to keep myself from dying, chopping off my hair AND cutting bangs.

I am still considering changing my name and running away to The Maldives to live on the beach. Actually, I think that plan will probably stay fresh in my mind for as long as it takes me to actually get to The Maldives. Perhaps there is something simple I could do there for work to sustain the simple beach life I desire.

In other news: my little brother is currently on baby-watch. His other-half could go into labour with their second child any hour now. She’s two days past her due date.

In other, other news: my baby brother has been keeping a secret that he and his other-half will be having their second child in just three months.

Babies, babies everywhere.

Okay, I should really get back to work.

  1. Congrats to your little bother! πŸ‘Ά Is he having a boy or a girl? I definitely feel that this is the year of a baby boom. Babies are a cute and a good distraction from everything that is going on in the world right now. When you say little, how little is he? My SO calls his 21-year old brother his “baby” brother. I guess this is terminology I will never understand.

Yes, can totally relate to wanting to cut my hair off (for me, it’s hair pulling). Stress causes me to pull my hair out, and bite my nails… it’s awful. I think it’s a good thing that you decided to keep your domain for another year. Blogging is a very good outlet for sure. πŸ“

    1. The baby is always the youngest sibling. It’s just a term people use for the last born. I guess not having siblings you never would’ve had any nicknames for siblings. lol

In reality my little brother is about a foot taller than me and my baby brother is as well. They’re both in their twenties. My baby brother will still be my baby brother even when he’s 50.

I absolutely feel you on stress causing hair pulling. I guess on the good side, at least it’s been nice out lately. We better appreciate that while it lasts. There’s a Polar Vortex headed our way in the coming weeks.

      1. Indeed, being an only child I am unfamiliar with the terminology. I keep telling my SO that his younger brother is not a baby despite what he says.

I agree that the weather is semi-decent these days. I still find it quite cold and icy so I am refusing to leave the house unless absolutely necessary. Bleh, totally not looking forward to the Polar Vortex. What was Mother Nature thinking? ❄❄❄

    1. He annoyed the piss out of me yesterday and my boss scheduled us another meeting for next week to ‘get on the same page’. My boss bet me $20 he’s going to quit on us. I guess we’ll find out. If he quits, I’ll give all the updates in one. If he doesn’t, I’ll continue the saga next week. lol

    1. HAHAHA! The great thing about them being my brother’s babies is that (when I finally am able to meet them) I can give them back when they’re done being happy and ready to scream.

  2. I’m glad you renewed for another year. To be able to find support and still rant/rave is a great outlet. I so enjoy your honesty. And, hey I’m an Auntie to over 50! That’s a VERY important job.

Your blog is one I always look forward to reading for your authenticity and transparency ❀ I’m totally down to meet you in the Maldives btw, just imagine the adventure we could have?! I have always had this fantasy of living on a beach, simply and purely. I’ve already cut off all my hairπŸ€—
Exciting news awaits when the arrival of new life is upon us. How wonderfulπŸ’— Being an Auntie is the best, I love the relationships I have with my niece and nephew.

  6. Congratulation to your little brother, and cheer to more growth and making decisions. Their are times I also want to cut my hair cause natural hair maintenance is no joke, while blogging cna be a good outlet don’t allow it to affect your mental space

  7. As someone who loves a dream life, I think you should spend some time researching the Maldives. Look at places to rent, go on google street view, see what shops and restaurants would be in your neighbourhood, work out where to get the best coffee, plot the route to the beach. I love doing this kind of thing. But maybe that’s just me being a bit crazy.

  8. Oh your baby brother is different to your little brother? That’s actually a useful way of distinguishingβ€” I always refer to my ‘first younger brother’ and ‘youngest brother’ πŸ˜†. But 4 babies between them, that’s insane 😐. Out of 4 boys my parents still don’t have any grandchildren yet, and my youngest brother just told me the other day that he’d rather adopt kids (as would I!). My genes can just die tbh lol.

    1. Yeah, my brother directly younger than me is my little brother and my youngest brother is my baby brother. My brother directly older to me is my big brother and my oldest brother we all call “gramps” (inside, siblings joke). I bet your parents take are just itching for one of your siblings to give them grandchildren. Lol

My baby brother will probably only have two kids. My little brother, though, he’s for sure going to have 8-10 kids. Not even for religious reasons. He and his other half just seem to love chaos.
